Brooke Shields (
Suddenly Susan), Kim Raver (
Third Watch) and Lindsay Price (
Beverly Hills, 90210) star in NBC's
Lipstick Jungle. The show is based on the book by Candace Bushnell (who also wrote the column which HBO's
Sex and the City was based on). Former "brat-pack" member Andrew McCarthy (
St. Elmo's Fire, Mannequin) also stars, and look for Lorraine Bracco show up in a couple of episodes in a deliciously different role than that of "Dr. Melfi" on
The Sopranos.
This past Thursday NBC aired the show's first season finale.
Lipstick Jungle was originally to have a 13-episode first season, but the Writer's Guild strike shortened it to just 7 episodes. A month ago NBC ordered (or is that re-ordered?) the other six, but those episodes will no longer be considered part of the show's first season.
Just a short time ago this morning, Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced that the initial 7 episodes will arrive on
May 27th in the
Lipstick Jungle - Season 1 set. This will come on 2 DVDs in Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) video, with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio and English subtitles. Bonus Deleted Scenes will be included. The list price will be just $29.98 for this release.
Stay tuned and we'll bring you cover art just as soon as it's available!
UPDATE: This afternoon, Universal has just made the package art available for
Lipstick Jungle - Season 1:
