Rumors have reached us that, following on the success of the Drew Carey version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, A&E is licensing the rights to release the original U.K. version of the show on DVD in Region 1/North America. The Channel 4 production was hosted by Clive Anderson, and featured several performers who were staples of the American version as well: Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood and Charles "Chip" Esten (now of the USA version of The Office) among them. Even Wayne Brady made into a few episodes of the UK version of the show!
A&E doesn't have any official word on this just yet, but we'll bring that to you just as soon as the formal announcement gets made! Our rumor-mongers didn't have a timeframe, either, but since it's so late in the year we can confidently say it ought to be in the first half of 2007. Stay tuned!
