This classic television sitcom features Betty White in her first starring role, for which she received her first Emmy nomination. Life with Elizabeth features Betty as the not-so-docile wife of Alvin (Del Moore), living in the suburbs in anything but perfect harmony with their St. Bernard and Pekinese dogs. Each episode finds Elizabeth (Betty White) faced with hilarious predicaments arising from every-day life, which she handles in her own unique style.
Betty White is hot, hot, HOT right now! She's
Hot in Cleveland, she's had hot appearances recently on
Saturday Night Live and
The Middle, she had a hot role on
Boston Legal a few years ago, and fans have never forgotten her as "Rose Nylund" judging by how hot
our recent story is about an upcoming DVD release of
The Golden Girls - 25th Anniversary Complete Collection. There's even
talk that she's been pitched to star in the George Burns role in a potential remake of the film
Oh, God!
Our friends at Timeless Media Group (TMG) have gone back to Betty's beginning, though, with a pair of DVD releases that have selected episodes of one of her earliest roles: the lead in the early '50s sitcom
Life With Elizabeth. TMG recently released a 2-DVD set of
Life with Elizabeth - The Best Of, featuring 8 installments of the program running 200 minutes, for just $9.98 SRP. That came out back in June.
Now TMG is moving forward with a new release, coming out on
November 19th. This special
Leading Ladies of TVs Golden Age set comes in a collectible tin, and is a 2-DVD collection that includes the comic genius of Betty White in
Life with Elizabeth, Lucille Ball in
The Lucy Show,
Gracie Allen (along with the aforementioned George Burns) in
The Burns and Allen Show, and Loretta Young in
The Loretta Young Show. This release contains 12 episodes of those 4 programs, running approximately 500 minutes. It's priced at $12.98, and you can
pre-order it from Amazon.
Here's the package art for both of these releases!
