Tim Roth stars as Dr. Cal Lightman, a compelling new drama from the producers of 24, about the world's leading deception expert who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to expose the truth behind the lies.
Last week we
reported that Amazon.com had updated their pre-order listings for
Lie to Me - Season 1 on
DVD and
Blu-ray Disc, showing a release date for the first time. The date provided for both versions was August 11th, but you may recall in that report we mentioned that the studio hadn't actually announced the title yet. This morning Fox Home Entertainment has formally put the release on the schedule they provide to all retailers. The information given there is that the actual street date for
Lie to Me - Season 1 will be
August 25th. Amazon is, at the time of this writing, still showing the 11th...but we would expect them to update it soon.
The standard DVD release will come on 4 discs, for $49.98 SRP in the USA and CA$59.98 SRP in Canada. Running time is 605 minutes. Video is widescreen. Audio options are English 5.1 Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround. There are also English and Spanish subtitles. Bonus material includes "The Truth About Lies," "The Science of Lies," "Mett 101: Micro Expression Training Tool" and "The Lightman Group Lie Detection Tests."
The Blu-ray Disc release arrives on the same day, a 3-disc set with the same list of bonus material, plus Deleted Scenes and a Gag Reel as well.
