LEVERAGE is a slick and crafty drama following a team of expert thieves that take down corrupt corporations in elaborate high-tech schemes. Insurance investigator Nate Ford (Academy Award-winner Timothy Hutton) exposed scams and recovered stolen items worth millions. But his life hit the skids when his insurance company allowed his ailing 8-year-old son to die. Years later, Nate gets even as the leader of a specialized team of thieves, computer experts and con artists that right corporate and governmental injustices against honest citizens. To expose corruption, Nate will do wrong for all the right reasons -- he will provide Leverage.
Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that
Leverage - The 1st Season is coming to DVD in just a couple of months! The TNT series which premiered last December, and has already been renewed for a second season, stars Timothy Hutton (
Ordinary People, Taps), Gina Bellman (the original
Coupling, Jekyll), Christian Kane (
Angel, Close to Home), Aldis Hodge (
Friday Night Lights) and Beth Riesgraf. The DVD will be available on
July 14th.
In addition to the main stars, you'll see guests in these 13 episodes that include Saul Rubinek, Robert Pine ("Sgt. Getraer" of
CHiPs, and father of
Star Trek's Chris Pine), D.B. Sweeney, Dan Lauria, Kevin Tighe and many others. Jonathan Frakes (
Star Trek: The Next Generation) has an uncredited cameo in one episode, but
more famously directed the 11th episode, "The Juror #6 Job". It was notable because among the guest cast in that episode were Frakes'
TNG co-star Brent Spiner,
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine cast member Armin Shimerman and
DS9 guest star Kitty Swink. Not to mention Lauren Holly (
Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, Dumb & Dumber, NCIS) also appearing in the same episode!
The 584-minute DVD release is presented in widescreen video, English Dolby Digital audio and with English subtitles. Pricing and package art isn't available yet, but stay tuned for that. In the meantime, here's a list of the bonus material that will be included on this set:
