Back in November we
passed along word that Nickelodeon's spin-off of
Avatar: The Last Airbender will be coming to DVD in 2013 with
The Legend of Korra - Book 1: Air. We also previously
told you about bonus material in-the-works. The studio still hasn't formally announced the title yet, but now Amazon.com has added pre-order listings for this on
DVD...and high-def
Blu-ray Disc! [
NOTE (2/8): the Blu-ray listing is no longer accepting pre-orders; we're unsure what the significance may be...it could be a choice - or error - on Amazon's part, or perhaps it means there won't be a Blu version after all, or perhaps there will be one but idiotically only exclusive to one seller; we don't know at this point.]
Both show a
May 21st release date on it, with a $19.98 SRP cost for the DVD version and a price of $26.98 SRP on the Blu-ray set. Details, a finalized list of extras, and package art haven't been made available so far (the DVD listing shows temporary promo art, but there's no way to know if this is the key artwork they'll use on the box).
