Following up on last November's first season DVD launch, Universal is preparing to bring us
Leave It To Beaver - The Complete 2nd Season on
May 2nd. This new 3-DVD (double-sided) set will contain all 39 half-hour episodes in the original black-and-white full frame video. Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow, and Jerry Mathers as "The Beaver" are all back, as is that creepy Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond).
Also look during this season for the first of three guest appearances by a very young Veronica Cartwright, who plays "Violet Rutherford" (Lumpy's sister) in this season's episode "The Tooth". Cartwright returns to that role in a 3rd season episode, and shows up once again in the sixth season as a different character.
The elements are digitally remastered for this DVD release, so we're expecting this to be sharp-looking and sounding. The cost for this release is $48.98 SRP, and it comes in three "slim case" DVD holders that slide into an outer box. Stay tuned for a look at the box just as soon as the studio delivers it.
