Law & Order - The 2nd Year is Here! *Updated*

After what must have felt like an eternity to fans of the show, Law & Order - The 2nd Year has been announced today for DVD release by Universal Home Video. This second season consists of 22 episodes of Dick Wolf's acclaimed series, from the 1991-92 run of the show.

May 4, 2004 is the street date for this box set, which follows in the footsteps of The First Year with similar packaging design and specs, with one exception: Universal is moving this to double-sided DVDs in order to cut the disc count in half and save you (and themselves, of course) some money, plus take up less space on the shelf in the bargain.

So look for 3 double-sided "DVD-18" discs with a combined running time of 17 hours, 26 minutes of programming. Video is once again in 1.33:1 "full screen" mode, with audio in English 2.0 Dolby and French 2.0 Dolby, with subtitles in French and Spanish. This release is closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

$59.98 is the list price for Law & Order - The 2nd Year, and after a year-and-a-half wait, fans of this series will snap it up quickly at that very nice price! As promised, here's a small look at the cover art for the set:
