A trailer on Conviction has Law & Order fans excited; it mentions that season 2 is "coming soon." No date is given, but we made some calls and were told it should (barring any schedule changes) be out before the end of the year.
Fans have been waiting for season 2 to fill in the gap between season 1, released in 2003, and season 3, released in 2004, just before the start of season 4 began airing on TV. Universal said there were plans to fill in the gap, it just took them a long time to do it. We haven't heard of future plans for the original Law & Order, or Special Victims Unit.
