Laverne & Shirley - Halfway Home: 4th Season DVDs Announced!

This morning Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that Laverne & Shirley - The Complete 4th Season is coming to DVD. This marks the halfway point of the show's 8-season run, and it was the next-to-last season that was set in Milwaukee (after the fifth season the show's setting was moved to Burbank, California). There were 24 half-hour episodes in the show's fourth year, with guest star appearances by '80s pop star Toni Basil, Living With Ed star Ed Begley Jr., Goonies gangster Anne Ramsey, M*A*S*H/The Closer actor G.W. Bailey, Tony Award-winner Robert Alda, and Tonight Show host Jay Leno.
It's noteworthy to mention that this is the first time we've seen an announcement for Laverne & Shirley on DVD, without also getting announcements at the same time for new box sets of Happy Days and also Mork & Mindy. But the studio has been making efforts recently to break up these kinds of matches (Frasier/Cheers and Melrose Place/Beverly Hills 90210 having similarly been split up), probably so that fans don't have to feel burdened with trying to buy so many packages on the exact same day. The running time for Laverne & Shirley - The Complete 4th Season is 606 minutes, and you will be able to get it on April 22nd. Stay tuned for box art and any further details we can find out!
