Lassie - Street Date Provided for a DVD Release from Classic Media

Mid-October release from the folks who officially own the home video rights

Over the years Classic Media - the only company with the official home video rights - has put out several DVD releases (both single-disc and multi-disc) for the classic Lassie television series. Now we have word from one of our retail contacts that the studio is working on another Lassie DVD release, scheduled for October 12th. And that's all we really know so far! We don't have a full title for this item, nor a cost, nor any other details. And certainly no box art. But our contact mentioned that it kind-of stood out on the latest schedule update from Classic Media and their current distributor, Vivendi Entertainment, so we're taking a chance and passing it along to our readers who are fans of the legendary collie. We're trying to look into this further, of course, so please stay tuned for updates!

UPDATE (8/4): As it turns out, this release is NOT from any of the Lassie television productions, but instead is a new DVD release of the 2006 cinematic film starring Peter O'Toole, Samantha Morton, John Lynch and Peter Dinklage. TVShowsOnDVD regrets the misunderstanding.
