Since posting the news that La Femme Nikita has been pulled from the scheduled July 20th release we've received many emails, and I thought it would be best to address a few issues in a news post.
While we don't know the reason behind the action Warner Bros took, we're sure they are justified in doing so. Warner has nothing to gain by pulling the set a week before street date, and everything to lose. All the work has been done on the set, and thousands of sets are ready to go. Warner Bros is now sitting on a ton of product, and obviously can't sell it for whatever reason. We're going to call Warner Bros and ask them about the situation, but I doubt we'll get a straight answer that can be posted. If we find out something we can post then it will be posted, but if they aren't able to go on the record as to the problem then we'll be unable to post anything, so please don't ask. Any requests for the information will go unanswered.
Many of you have also written in to report receiving sets or seeing them on eBay. Because the set was pulled so close to release there will be some people that receive the sets. Information like this takes time to trickle down in many places, and some stores may have it for sale if they don't receive notice that the release has been pulled. There are also many e-tailers that ship product to consumers early so they receive it on release date, or sometimes a few days before. There will be legitimate season 2 sets out there, with many showing up on eBay. Since we don't know if this set has been cancelled or simply delayed, paying outrageous money for a set on eBay is a choice that you'll have to make on your own, knowing that the set may appear at retail locations later on.
We feel for what the fans are going through right now, but please keep in mind that Warner Bros hasn't done this to be mean or to spite the fans, but because they had a good reason to do so. This is costing them a lot of money, and we're sure they will try to fix whatever problem has caused the delay of the set.
We decided not to send an email out for this news item since it isn't news, but rather commentary on an issue, and we felt fans of the show have received enough news in the past few days.
