Back in the early January we
told you about a toy for
Krypto the Superdog which came with the pilot episode of the show, "Krypto's Scrypto" on DVD. Now Warner is planning to bring out another single-disc release of the Cartoon Network series, but not with a toy this time. On
June 20th, the same day we're supposed to see
Superman: The Animated Series - Volume 3,
Justice League - Volume 2, Lois & Clark - Season 3,
Superboy - Season 1, and
The Adventures of Superman - Season 3. Wow, what's up with all this
Super-power on DVD? Well, the new feature film
Superman Returns hits theaters just a week and a half after this date!
Krypto the Superdog - Cosmic Canine will have 55 minutes worth of the show, plus a bonus feature called "Power Up!: Krypto's Unique Super Powers." We presume that the pilot episode, which is the only one so far that had a cameo by Superman himself, is among that 55 minutes, but we don't have those details just yet. The price is just $14.98 SRP, and specially marked copies of the release (but not all of them) will come with "movie cash" inside, which is a coupon to save you some money on the new
Superman Returns feature starring Brandon Routh.
Here's an early look at the box art, thanks to our friends in the home video industry who sent it our way. We're sure that the big banner won't be on the finished product, of course, but it does look really cool from a promo point of view. We'll have more for you when we get it, so stay tuned!
