This past July saw Image Entertainment's
announcement that they would be distributing BKN's
Kong: The Animated Series - Return to the Jungle individually, on both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc, starting
October 13th. That's tomorrow, by the way...but today we've got word of a delay for this title. Not on the DVD version ($9.97 SRP): it will apparently still be available to buy after midnight, according to both Image and
Amazon's pre-order listing.
But the Blu-ray release ($19.98 SRP) has been pushed back, according to Image's newest info.
the high-def listing at Amazon hasn't been updated yet with the revised date, but Image says that the BD version will now come out on
January 26, 2010. No reason for the delay was provided . However, they've also included word that the audio on the Blu-ray Disc will be in uncompressed PCM 2.0 Stereo Sound, rather than the conventional Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track on the DVD version. Nice to know!
