Sony's been releasing the popular sitcom,
The King of Queens, as season set DVDs in the United States since 2003...culminating in
a sweet-looking Complete Series set which was in stores by the end of 2007. However, none of these releases were ever made available to sellers in Canada (except as imports from the USA), because Sony didn't officially own the north-of-the-border rights to do so.
Now, however, the first three seasons are finally coming to Canucks on
August 11th...from Paramount Home Entertainment's Canadian branch! Each will be a 3-disc set, starring Kevin James, Leah Remini and Jerry Stiller. Running time is listed as 560 minutes for the first and third seasons, and 580 for the second. Video is full screen, audio is in English and French Stereo, and each includes French subtitles as well. The cost will be CA$42.99 SRP for each one. There are no plans for Paramount to distribute these in the USA; the Sony releases will continue to be available, from what we understand.
