In a report publicized by both
The Futon Critic and
Television Week, it was announced yesterday that
Keen Eddie is coming to DVD.
Creator/Executive Producer J.H. Wyman and fellow Executive Producer Warren Littlefield were commenting on the short-lived show (originally broadcast on Fox) and the sale of its 13 episodes to NBC-owned Bravo TV. In the words of TVWeek's Leslie Ryan, "Bravo paid producer Paramount north of $50,000 an episode for a one-year deal that gives the basic cable service the right to multiple airings, according to sources with knowledge of the deal."
Both reports concentrated on this, but both also mentioned that a DVD release was pending. In the words of Futon Critic's Brian Ford Sullivan, "In addition, the Paramount-distributed series has been slated for a DVD release however no street date has been set."
We contacted Paramount for comment, and our source who looked into the DVD report said that they had nothing currently planned. So if
Keen Eddie is indeed coming to DVD , it's obviously VERY early in the planning stages (or else coming from another distributor). In either case, we don't think fans should expect this to hit shelves TOO soon. We'll continue to keep an eye on this, and will bring you more news as soon as it's available. Stay tuned!
