Kate & Allie - 5th Season DVDs Formally Announced: Date, Cost & Cover Art!

Susan Saint James (McMillan and Wife) and Jane Curtin (3rd Rock from the Sun, Saturday Night Live) star as high school friends Kate McArdle and Allie Lowell, two divorcées raising their kids together in one of the rare modern sitcoms set (and filmed) in New York City. TV's favorite single moms are back for a Fifth Season of one the most funny, hip and poignant shows of our time!

Critics raved as the show had massive ratings, earning Jane Curtin (3rd Rock from the Sun, Saturday Night Live) one of two consecutive Emmy Awards for Best Actress; Bill Persky scored an Emmy for Best Director.

Guest appearances are made by hall of fame quarterback Joe Namath, Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck), Paul Guilfoyle (CSI), Sam Freed (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Zach Grenier (24, Deadwood), and daytime drama fans will enjoy seeing their favorite classic soap stars turning up in supporting roles in almost every episode.

Late in May we reported that VEI planned to release Kate & Allie - Season 5 on DVD in Canada later this year, in the Sept-Oct timeframe. Now retailers up north have been given the word to expect this 3-disc set on September 9th. Running time is 600 minutes, and the cost is CA$29.95 SRP.
