But when one of their own commits the ultimate betrayal, it could be the end of the Justice League and Earth forever. Don't' miss one second of suspense or one iota of excitement with this 26 episode collection.
It's been a while now - 2008! - since Justice League - Season 1 on Blu-ray was released. Today Warner Home Video has announced that they'll follow it up at last with a high-def BD release of Season 2, coming out on July 26th. The 2-disc set will run 593 minutes, and is priced at $39.99 SRP.

After the first season's Blu version came out in a 1.33:1 "full screen" aspect ratio, just like the original DVDs of that season had (just in 1080p high definition, though), fans are probably wondering how Warner is handling the video format this time around. According to the studio's early information, the Season 2 Blu-ray will again handle it just like the DVD version originally had. For the second season's DVD, the video was a in a "matted widescreen" format, done in a way known as Letterboxing (rather than the superior Anamorphic style). For the new BD release, Warner's details shows "4 x 3 Letterbox," which indicates it will be the same matted widescreen image used in the DVD set, just in high-def.

UPDATE (4/9): Our friend James Harvey of the World's Finest website has updated his own report about this title to say this: "A representative for Warner Home Video has just confirmed that the aspect ratio for the 'Justice League: Season Two' Blu-ray release will be 16x9." Thanks for the heads-up about this, James!

Audio is described in the studio info as English Dolby Surround Stereo, with subtitles in English and Spanish. Bonus material mentioned consists of the following: "Justice League Declassified" featurette: Phil LaMarr (the voice of Green Lantern) takes You Behind-the-Scenes with the show's creative team; Audio Commentaries on 3 select episodes with the creators and directors of the series; Easter Egg "Not too Savage": a never-seen-before Deleted Scene with an introduction by producer Bruce Timm.
