Just a few days into the new year, we
reported about Warner Home Video changing their home video strategy: the will continue to release standard DVDs, of course, but on the high-definition side they will at the end of May stop supporting the HD DVD format and only support the hi-def Blu-ray Disc format.
They stated at the time that, although they will continue their planned HD DVD releases through May, these version would not be shipped day-and-date with the Blu-ray or standard DVD releases. We noted that the only already-announced title in the TV category (well, sorta) which might be affected would be the HD DVD edition of
Justice League: The New Frontier. That is now confirmed: the studio has changed the release date for that version to
March 18th
Retailers such as Amazon are expected to update their listings soon to reflect the change. All other releases of
Justice League: The New Frontier (the 1-DVD version, the 2-DVD version, and the Blu-ray Disc version) are still scheduled to ship on February 26th. Below is the front and rear artwork we've
previously shown you a month ago for the HD DVD edition.
