Several weeks ago we
broke the news that TLC and Genius Entertainment are preparing a 4th Season DVD release for
Jon & Kate Plus Ei8ht. At the time our early info from the studio was that it would be a complete season set, on 4 discs, costing $34.95 SRP and arriving on May 12th. Now the plans have changed quite a bit!
The good news is that the date has gotten closer and the price is going down a bit, with a
May 5th schedule and a cost of $27.95 SRP. The down, side, though, is that the content is also reduced a bit, with the set now being on a 3-disc count. The reason is all in the new title:
Jon & Kate Plus Ei8ht - Season 4, Volume 1: The Wedding. The previously-provided running time of "700 minutes" is now marked as "TBD" (to be decided), and the bonus material still hasn't been revealed, so we can't be specific yet about the exact contents. We've confirmed, though, that this release - like
Season 3 (when the as-aired broadcast format changed from full to wide) will actually be in anamorphic widescreen. There's now an Amazon pre-order listing available, too, and it provides a look at the front cover art:
