With a just-released Blu-ray version of
Band of Brothers on the market, and plans - albeit delayed a bit, apparently - to bring
Generation Kill to the high definition format as well, it looks like HBO Video is continuing to bring many of their popular mini-series to Blu.
A new Amazon listing shows that HBO's
John Adams, winner of 13 Emmy Awards (including Outstanding Actor and Actress for stars Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney), is coming to high-definition Blu-ray Disc in 2009. Cost is $79.98 SRP, but Amazon will allow you to pre-order it right away for $55.99 after discount (price is subject to change at Amazon's discretion, without notice). An exact availability date is not provided yet, though; the listing simply says "
This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Stay tuned, though, and we'll update you with the exact release date, cover art and further details once the studio makes an official announcement!
