Denis Leary is just popping up on DVD all over the place! Prior to the announcement earlier this week of his more recent show,
Rescue Me, as
getting a DVD release (on 6/7), we were already telling you to expect his previous show,
The Job, to come to DVD on
May 24th ($49.98 SRP).
It's been almost a month since we brought you Shout! Factory's
press release for this 4-disc set, but now the company's got new details to pass along, plus updated cover art as well.
Mike McNeil (Denis Leary) is a self-medicating, hard-drinking, decorated New York City detective with a wife, a mistress, and a crush on a co-worker. Surrounded by a partner and fellow squad members who are just as colorful, McNeil pursues his uniquely unconventional, yet effective, approach to crime solving while he attempts to manage the chaos of his personal life.
Originally broadcast on ABC in 2001 and 2002, The Job was shot entirely on location in New York City, giving the look of the show a grit to match its humor.
