A week ago today we
posted an update about
Jeremiah - Season 2 on DVD, available exclusively from Amazon.com's "CreateSpace" manufacture-on-demand program. In our story last Friday, we told you that
Amazon's entry for this title had been updated, showing a release date down in the "Product Details" section of the listing. That release date said February 3rd, which was a couple of days earlier than our post. However, the in-stock-or-not status of the title was showing as "
Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available." At least that's what it said at the time.
Yesterday evening the listing changed once more, and now instead says near the top that "
This title will be released on March 3, 2010." This update essentially changed the title back to a pre-order status, and the date in the "Product Details" section of the entry changed from 2/3/10 to 3/3/10 to match the information at the top. So the bottom line is that Amazon is once again saying this MOD title isn't available to ship yet.
However, that information is at odds with e-mails sent by Amazon to a number of our readers, who overnight have forwarded us messages from the big e-tailer that said their copies were shipping! The one thing each of these customers have in common is that they placed their pre-orders prior to the end of January, so perhaps these are early birds who are "getting the worm" (i.e., being rewarded for being among the first group of people to commit to owning the title by placing an advance order). The messages we've seen all provide an estimated date of arrival of these shipments starting around the middle of next week.
So the way we interpret things, it looks like the "first-demanded" batch is already manufactured and going out, and should be delivered soon, and then newly placed orders won't get filled until the first of next month. First come, first served...makes sense to us! Our thanks to each reader who took the time to write in to us, beginning with the fortunate Jeff Johnson, who's gotten a shipping notice saying his copy is on the way.
