The Women's Guild: its ideals are to promote truth, justice, tolerance and fellowship...or is it just an excuse for good old gossip? The ladies of the Clatterford Women's Guild are back for a second series of the acclaimed Jam & Jerusalem. Set in a small west country town, Series Two follows the continuing exploits of ex-practice nurse Sal Vine and the memorable - and not a little eccentric - members of the local Guild. Written by Jennifer Saunders and starring some of the best-loved names in comedy, Jam & Jerusalem is a comedy that takes an affectionate look at village life and the empathy and togetherness found in a local community where everyone knows everyone's business.
The U.K. program
Jam and Jerusalem, starring Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French (who previously teamed up for
French & Saunders), plus Joanna Lumley (
Absolutely Fabulous), is shown in the USA on BBC America under the title "
Clatterford". The first season
came to DVD in May 2007 here in the States. Now the folks at BBC Video and Warner Home Video have announced
Clatterford - Season 2.
The new 2-DVD set will arrive on
Sept. 1st, including all six episodes from the second U.K. series (season) which aired in 2008. Running time is 181 minutes, for $19.98 SRP. Video is widescreen, audio is English Stereo and there are English subtitles as well. Cover art isn't available yet, but stay tuned.
