CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have been releasing
JAG on DVD since 2006, a year after the show aired its series finale. Now the home videos come to an end, too, as CBS/Paramount announces that
JAG - The Final Season will arrive on
February 9th. The 22 episodes of the 10th and last season start off with "Hail and Farewell, Part 2," the conclusion of the two-parter which the ninth year left off with. The running time is 969 minutes, with episodes presented in widescreen video, English Stereo Surround Sound, and with closed captioning.
For the final season, there was a bit of change in the cast. Harm (David James Elliot) and Mac (Catherine Bell) were still there, of course, but gone was the JAG (Judge Advocate General) himself, Rear Admiral Chegwidden, who had retired at the end of the 9th season. Replacing him in this final year of the show, starting with the fourth episode "A Whole New Ball Game", was David Andrews (
From the Earth to the Moon, Apollo 13) as Major General Gordon "Biff" Cresswell. Now, Harm was still present in the final season, but we didn't see him quite as much, and soap opera actor Chris Beetem was brought in as "Lt. Gregory Vukovic" for 8 of the 22 episodes during that last year.
Guest stars, both recurring and single-appearance, include the likes of Steven Culp, Jason Beghe, Hallee Hirsh, William Katt, William Sadler, Dean Stockwell, Ray Wise, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Stana Katic, William Russ, Bruce Davison, Jennifer Savidge, A Martinez and Joe Regalbuto. My thanks to my brother, Brian Lambert, for his assistance with this
JAG information...he's a big fan of the show, and hence has been a big help putting this story together! Pricing hasn't been revealed by the studio just yet, but they did send over a look at the packaging. Check it out:
