Well, we have some news to pass along for fans of
Ironside. This past February we
told you how one reader had inquired with Shout! Factory about
Ironside - Season 5 on DVD, and was told to expect it (as a direct-sale "Shout! Select" web exclusive title) in mid-May. Obviously that date has come and gone, with no sign of it. But now another reader, Kate OBrien, sent Shout! Factory an email to ask about future release dates for the show, and this was the studio's response:
We hope that you have enjoyed the previous seasons.
Season 5 and season 6 are releasing later this year. They are going to be direct to consumer seasons. They can only purchased from our site.
Check back with our site in mid June. We will have a better idea of the street date for the future seasons.

It's good to know that the next two seasons are on the radar (there were 8 seasons in all, of course). These haven't been formally announced yet, of course, but they must be making progress on both titles if company reps are telling customers the sets will be coming later in the year. Don't forget that the plans for
Season 5, formerly gotten a similar way, DID change...and these could change, too. Very easily. Stay tuned for updates, as further developments occur!
