Over a year ago, in March 2008, we
reported that the rights to DiC's
Inspector Gadget animated series, starring the voice of Don Adams (
Get Smart), had apparently moved from Shout! Factory to Fox Home Entertainment. After Shout! had released the first 22 episodes of the classic show
Inspector Gadget - The Original Series, Fox was apparently going to scale back releases to a single "best-of" disc titled
Big Little Problems, with only 3 episodes on it. A few weeks later, however, Fox
canceled that release, and nothing has been heard about it since then.
Yesterday, however, our retail contacts let us know that Fox had scheduled a different release, this time with 10 episodes.
Inspector Gadget - The Go Go Gadget Collection, coming out on
September 8th, will be one double-sided DVD costing $19.98 SRP (CA$21.98 SRP in Canada). Running 220 minutes long, it contains the episodes listed below. We added the episode numbers to that list, based on the episode guides found online at TV.com and the Big Cartoon DataBase (BCDB.com). As you can see, this doesn't exactly pick up in airdate order following Shout!'s 4-disc set, but it doesn't have any cross-over with it either. Box art isn't available so far, but stay tuned and we'll bring it to you as soon as we can!
