
Two weeks ago we revealed that Universal Studios would be updating the package art for The Incredible Hulk - The Complete 2nd Season. The original version of the box used standard "2D" art (show above left), even though the first season set used a fancier "3D" lenticular cover. Then, after the announcement that the 3rd and 4th seasons are coming out on June 3rd, and would have lenticular covers on each of those sets, it seemed that the 2nd season was the odd item out...until the studio announced it would upgrade the art on that box and make a lenticular cover for it, too. We recently asked Universal if there was any chance they could make the new lenticular packaging for Season 2 available to people that already own the set, and we received this reply:

So, there it is for those of you who want to make the switch. One possible flaw we see in this arrangement is "what happens if the consumer's old box gets lost in the mail?" With that in mind, it might be best to use certified mail to be able to track it and make sure it arrives at Universal.
Update: Universal suggests holding off sending the packaging in until June; the new packaging won't be available until then.
