Several weeks ago a DVD deal was announced between Stephen J. Cannell Productions and Mill Creek Entertainment. Now Mill Creek has announced the first round of their releases for Cannell-created shows, coming out on January 19th. All three titles were previously released by Anchor Bay in late 2004 or early 2005, but return to stores in 2010 at the low, low price of just $14.98 SRP.
Mill Creek's release of Hunter - The Complete 1st Season can be tracked down on 4 DVDs running 950 minutes for 19 classic episodes: Pilot, Hard Contact, The Hot Grounder, A Long Way From L.A., Legacy, Flight on a Dead Pigeon, Pen Pals, Dead or Alive, High Bleacher Man, The Shooter, The Garbage Man, The Avenging Man, The Snow Queen Part 1, The Snow Queen Part 2, The Beach Boy, Guilty, The Last Kill, Fire Man, and Sniper. Our thanks to reader Willard Onellion for the heads-up on this info. Below is the studio description, followed by the package art:
Often dubbed as television's answer to Dirty Harry, former football star Fred Dryer lights up the screen as Los Angeles Police Department detective Rick Hunter, a renegade cop who breaks the rules and takes justice into his own hands. Partnered with the equally stunning and rebellious Sgt. Dee Dee "The Brass Cupcake" McCall (Stepfanie Kramer), the tough-minded duo bring an edgy attitude, extreme action, sly humor and sexual chemistry while cracking down on L.A.'s slimiest criminals.
Created by THE A-TEAM creator Frank Lupo and produced by the legendary Stephen J. Cannell, HUNTER combines hard-hitting action with mispaired-buddy comedy through all 19 hard-hitting season one episodes. This explosive debut season also features guest stars Dennis Franz, Brian Dennehy, Dennis Farina, Bo Svenson, Joanna Kerns, Ed O'Neill and more. HUNTER was one of the most popular television shows of the 1980s and one of the most successful cop shows of all time, enjoying a successful 7-season run on NBC.
