Earlier this week Spelling Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment
announced that
Hotel - The 1st Season is finally coming to DVD, and will be available on
July 21st. We didn't have a lot of information for you at the time, but now we've gotten a lot more details from our retail sources. The package will be a 6-disc set. It will include the rarely-seen pilot telefilm, and the 22 episodes which followed for the regular first season of the show.
Your visit to the St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco will run you $49.99 SRP, but you can book your room in advance, and at a discount, by using the Amazon pre-order button link below. Underneath that is an early look at the front cover art, still subject to change. As you can see, it reminds us that this series is based on Arthur Hailey's 1965 bestselling novel, before he went on to write other books which went on to become films (such as
Airport) and television miniseries (such as
The Moneychangers). Based on the information provided to retailers, it looks like there will be no extras included on this set. Stay tuned, though, and we'll update you if we find out anything further about this release!
