Home Movies fans are still pretty stoked after reading
our news this past Thursday that
Home Movies - Season 2 would arrive on DVD this coming
May 10th. But don't calm down just yet, because YOU have the opportunity to win a contest and be part of the extras on that release!
One of our readers, "Scott" (thanks for the heads-up!), let us know about
the contest (click that link for full rules and details). The contest has actually been running for close to a month, so get going! Here's what Shout Factory's press release - dated 11/22 - has to say about it:
In conjunction with the long-awaited release of Home Movies: Season One on DVD, Shout! Factory issues a call for entries to all moviemakers, especially those with short attention spans. Shout! Factory and Home Movies co-creator, writer and star Brendon Small are collecting filmed entries for the "Small Shorts" contest in the form of home-made movies no more than two minutes in length, each made in the comedic spirit of the Home Movies animated series. The lucky (and talented) winner will win a Sony DCR-PC350 Handycam camcorder, and a place in digital history! The winning film will be included with a spot for their short film on the Home Movies: Season Two DVD, scheduled for a 2005 release. The Small Shorts contest, co-sponsored by iFilm, Tower Records and Sony Electronics, begins this week and will close January 31, 2005.
So there you go! Put something together - something really cool, mind you! - and send it in and you could have your own "home movie" included on May's release of the 2nd season. What could be cooler than that?
