Following their
Season 2 Blu-ray release last month, Davis-Panzer has informed us that they are targeting
November 15th as the ship date for their Blu-ray Disc version of
Highlander: The Series - Season 3. List price is $49.95, but you can pre-order it at the just-above link for $39.95, as of this writing. You'll get 22 episodes (1078 mins.) on 5 BDs, presented in 720p resolution high-def in the original as-aired 1.33:1 "full screen" aspect ratio, and with English - DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Also included are the following extras:
- Live By The Sword: A documentary on swords and their use in the series
- Third Time In: A series of interviews with cast and crew discussing the making of Season Three
- Still Shots: A Behind-the-Scenes musical montage
- 2 picture-in-picture (PIP) commentaries
- Methos Rocks: A humorous and revealing interview with the 5000 year-old Immortal
- Forever Fans: Archival footage from 1998:. A fan retrospective

Wait...what? Yes! Davis-Panzer is re-releasing
Highlander: The Series - Season 1 on Blu-ray Disc the same day,
November 15th. We are informed by the studio that "
it will have a few different bonus features as well as improved sound and picture quality." Before you get upset if you've already purchased the original BD version of
Season 1, however, we asked Davis-Panzer if there would be any sort of upgrade path for those people. They responded that "
we are planning on something for the early adopters; but we are still ironing out the details." Stay tuned, and we'll get the details of the changes to
Season 1, plus a link to pre-order the new version, AND the information about what previous purchasers can do to get the new set, just as soon as all of that is available. In the meantime, check out the revised package art below.
