A month ago we
had an update about the release date for
Highlander: The Series - Season 1 on Blu-ray Disc. What we passed along to you at the time was this: "
Davis-Panzer tells us that "there was an issue with getting the German tracks up, so the date has been pushed back a week." Since the previous availability date was to have been September 15th, that must mean that the new date will be September 22nd."
Now it turns out that the issue was even larger than initially thought! The German audio turned out to be edited-down versions of the tracks, without all the dubbing that should be found. Davis-Panzer obviously has no intention of shipping the set with those tracks in that condition, and have decided to take some additional time to go and re-edit this for all 22 episodes. To give themselves enough time to do this properly, they have moved the ship date back to
October 31st.
Kudos to the studio for taking the time to do it right. Even if the German language option isn't something that everybody will be using around these parts, it doesn't make sense to send out a product with a glaringly obvious problem like that. We're grateful to this studio, and every studio for that matter, that takes a little extra time to work out all the kinks. Thanks to Davis-Panzer for filling us in on those details, too...it's good to know exactly what's going on. We can't wait to get our own first look at this set, and we know you can't either, but we will cheerfully wait a bit longer. If you haven't pre-ordered your copy yet, then be sure to head over to
LegendaryHeroes.com right away!
