Heroes - Official Season 4 DVD/Blu-ray Announcement Includes Lots of Extras

5-DVD, 4-BD set gets a finalized street date of August 3rd

    Experience all the intrigue and suspense of Heroes: Season 4 in this 5-disc set that includes all 18 gripping episodes from the fourth season's volume, Redemption. As the Heroes mourn fallen friends and face dangerous new foes, prepare for a wild ride - filled with shocking twists and turns - through an ominous funhouse that culminates in a Brave New World. Then step right up and explore hours of exclusive, behind-the-curtain magic with the show's writers, stars and artists.
We previously reported that Amazon was taking pre-orders, in both the USA and Canada, for Heroes - Season 4 on DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. The USA listings for haven't had any release date, because the studio hadn't formally announced the title at the time. The Canadian listings for, however, showed a release date of July 27th. The studio made them take down those listings, however, because the release date hadn't been finalized yet.

Today Universal Studios Home Entertainment formally announced Heroes - Season 4, and ended up scheduling the title on DVD and Blu-ray for just a week later, on August 3rd. They confirmed the pricing of $59.98 SRP for the 5-disc DVD, and $79.98 SRP for the 4-disc BD version. Bonus material provided consists of:

  • Sullivan Brothers Design Gallery
  • Once Upon a Time in Texas Commentary with Executive Producer Tim Kring, Episode Director Nate Goodman and Director of Photography Charlie Lieberman

  • Shadowboxing Commentary with Executive Producers Adam Armus & Kay Foster and Series Star Greg Grunberg
  • The Fifth Stage Commentary with Executive Producer/Episode Writer Tim Kring and Series Star Adrian Pasdar
  • Genetics of a Scene
  • Brave New World Commentary with Executive Producer Tim Kring and Series Star Robert Knepper
Running time is 813 minutes for both versions. The DVD specs are anamorphic widescreen video, English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish. The Blu-ray specs are widescreen high-def 1080p video, English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish. The studio hasn't formally released the package art yet, but our friends over at have a small, early look at the DVD box. Here's a peek at that:
