We've
told you in the past about plans from VEI to release DVDs and Blu-ray Discs for
Hell's Kitchen - Season 5: Raw & Uncensored in the USA and Canada on
August 2nd, followed by versions on both formats for
Hell's Kitchen - Season 6: Raw & Uncensored on
September 6th. And for Canadians, the
4 pre-order listings at Amazon.ca for these titles continues to show those same dates.
But as the first of those dates approach, a reader of our named Jacob (who we thank for passing this along to us!) received an e-mail from Amazon.com, the State-side branch of the big e-tailer, saying that VEI's distributor in the U.S.A., Millennium/First Look, had pushed back the release dates of these titles to
August 30th for the
Season 5 DVD set, and to
November 1st for both versions of the
Season 6 sets. The
Amazon.com pre-order listings for these 4 items demonstrates these new schedules.
We've asked VEI to confirm the changes, but haven't immediately received a reply. No reason is available for the change, either, and package art for the high-def Blu-ray edition of the
Season 6 set hasn't been provided so far either. Stay tuned, however, and we'll update you if we find out anything further.
UPDATE (7/28): VEI has today informed us that the Canadian release dates are moving as well, to the same street date that the U.S.A. titles show above. In short, the titles will be available in both countries on the same dates; we wanted to take a moment and correct that information for our readers. One reason mentioned for the date is to give more time to provide the best possible quality, especially for the high-def Blu-ray Disc releases. Good reason...we approve!
