Last July we
reported that VEI of Canada had plans to release
Hell's Kitchen - Seasons 1 to 4: Limited Collector's Edition, which compiled the first four seasons of the hit reality show in it's "Raw and Uncensored" version that includes all of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s infamous obscenities and curse words, unbleeped. Originally the idea was to put this out in September 2010, with "cookbook"-style packaging. However, a few weeks later we
passed along word that the big set had been put on hold, while VEI continued to release the third and fourth seasons as individual packages.
Today we have great news for our readers: VEI informs us that the title is now back on the schedule, with changed packaging to a more popular (and durable, we're sure) Collectors' Tin Box. It will be available this way in limited quantities, and inside you will find a "
Seasons 1 and 2" case, a "
Seasons 3 and 4" case, the official
Hell's Kitchen Apron, and an official 44-page
Hell's Kitchen Recipe Guide that features a selection of dishes presented on the show. Yum! That's over 35 hours of content, plus the following on-disc bonus content (note that these are the same extras as found on the individual season sets):
- Interview and Restaurant Tour with Executive Producer Kent Weed
- Interview with Executive Producer Arthur Smith
- Interview with Production Designer John Janavs
- Season 1 Interview with Chef Gordon Ramsay
- Season 2 Interviews with Chef Gordon Ramsay, Sous Chefs Maryann Salcedo & Scott Liebfried, and Maitre’d Jean Philippe Susilovic
- Interviews with the 12 Contestants from Season 2
- Tour of the Hell’s Kitchen Set with Chef Ramsay
- Behind the scenes clips of Hell’s Kitchen for Season 2
- Tour of the Season 2 Grand Prize: Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa (Las Vegas)
- Season 3 Interview with Chef Gordon Ramsay
- Season 3 Interviews with Sous Chefs Maryann Salcedo & Scott Liebfried
- Question & Answer Session with the 12 Contestants from Season 3
This 13-DVD
Hell's Kitchen - Seasons 1 to 4: Limited Collector's Edition set will be available in the United States, through VEI distributor First Look/Millennium, on
June 28th (timed to tie in with the Fox Network premiere of the show's ninth season). The cost is $59.98 SRP, but you can pre-order it now from Amazon.com using the button link below. A general retail release has not yet been specified for Canada; for north-of-the-border fans VEI may decide to partner at first with a particular retailer on a temporarily exclusive basis (we don't often cover that sort of "retailer exclusive" thing, but we'll certainly pass along word if a general Canadian retail release occurs later on). Here's a look at the package contents, and then the tin packaging itself:
