Remember how in late October, right after the release of
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - Season 1, Volume 1, the folks at BCI Eclipse
issued a statement acknowledging that there was an issue with the digipak tray used in the initial run of sets, and that due to a slightly protruding piece of plastic the DVDs were sometimes getting scratched up. BCI was extremely gracious in the way they handled this, offering to replace either discs, box, or both upon request of any legitimate purchaser of the set (see the previous news post for details). Fans have been extremely happy about the way the studio has handled this matter.
Now BCI is getting sets into stores (and to online retailers as well) which for certain do not have this issue with the protruding bit of plastic. So no more disc scratching should occur with these sets with the proper trays that are filtering out to retailers even as we speak. How can fans tell the difference between the good and bad packages, though? BCI has made it easy to tell which ones are the new ones. All you have to do is look for this 3/4" round sticker on the back that declares the set to be "Orko Approved":
