The latest issue of Toyfare magaine (issue #95) contains some new information about the upcoming DVD sets. Here's a summary of the information from the article, found on page 12, most of which we already know:
- All 130 episodes will be released as four volumes, two for each season.
- Season One, Volume One will tentatively ship in October.
- BCI plans to release the He-Man/She-Ra Christmas Special and two volumes of The New Adventures of He-Man.
- Each volume will contain 2 documentaries (approx 30 mins each) containing footage, animatics, bloopers, promotional material, commercials, artwork and photos. These are being created by Andy Mangels (author of "Animation On DVD: The Ultimate Guide") and Val Staples (owner of HeMan.org).
- Two postcards featuring art by Bruce Timm, Alex Ross, Jae Lee and others will accompany each volume.
- 32 hours of interviews have already been recorded, featuring producer Lou Scheimer, writers J. Michael Straczynski and Paul Dini, as well as animators, voice actors and fans.
The article repeats material we've already mentioned here (at least once), but it's written in a very humerous way. We'd recommend you track down a copy if you're a big
He-Man fan, just so you can read it yourself.
Thanks to Lawson Allen for repeatedly emailing us about this (we had to track down a copy of the magazine!)
