It's been over a month since we
divulged the news that an exclusive-to-Canada release of
Hardcastle & McCormick - The Complete 1st Season was in the works for a February release. With that timeframe fast approaching, fans were starting to wonder why the title wasn't up for order on Amazon.ca (the Canadian branch of the e-tailer) yet? We checked in with Visual Entertainment, Inc. of Toronto and asked.
We were told that the release is indeed going forward next month, on
February 14th. Our contact at VEI explained that there are no pre-orders at this time because this release "is on a very short sell cycle." This has to do with the length of time the retailer has to place the initial order with the distributor, it was explained to us, and should not affect the customer nor the amount of stock in the stores once the release date hits. But it does mean that online retailers like Amazon.ca and actual stores like Best Buy probably won't be listing the title until very close to the release date. We'll create a release listing here at TVShowsOnDVD with the Amazon.ca link just as soon as we know it's there, so stay tuned!
