Visual Entertainment, Inc. (VEI) of Toronto, who recently released
John Byner's Bizarre on DVD, has informed us that they are preparing a
February 2006 (exact date not yet specified) of
Hardcastle & McCormick. This Stephen J. Cannell Productions series was an hour-long action show that ran on ABC starting in 1983. Daniel Hugh Kelly starred as Mark "Skid" McCormick and
Family Affair's Brian Keith showed a very different character as Judge Milton C. "Hardcase" Hardcastle. But what most people remember is the car: the "Coyote" (Coyote X, to be exact) is the experimental car that is driven in the show by ex-racecar-driver McCormick.
Hardcastle & McCormick - The Complete 1st Season will only be released by VEI in Canada, but if imported to the United States it will indeed work on your standard player, since it's all Region 1. This is a 5-DVD set with all 21 regular episodes plus the 2-hour pilot, "Rolling Thunder." Running time is about 17-and-a-half hours. Aspect ratio is the original 1.33:1 full screen.
Lance Henriksen, Caren Kaye, Robert Pastorelli, Buddy Ebsen, Tracy Scoggins, Corinne Bohrer, Richard Herd, Robert Culp, Doug McClure, and Randi Brooks are just a few of the guest stars from this show's first season. There were three seasons of this show, and hopefully VEI will bring them all out! Here's a look at the box art for the first release:
