Confirming
our report last week, this morning Paramount Home Entertainment has officially announced the
December 9th DVD release of
Happy Days - The 4th Season. Running time given is 10 hours 33 minutes, with video listed as Full Screen and audio listed as "English - Restored Mono". We *DO* expect there to be music changes on this release, so be prepared for that, but the studio's formal announcement this morning didn't speak to that one way or the other (no surprise; they usually don't). We'll update you with anything further we hear about that, plus and other details as well as package art, when Paramount makes that available. Stay tuned!
NOTE: Fans of
Laverne & Shirley and
Mork & Mindy may be left wondering where announcements are of the latest season sets for those shows, considering that they are usually released at that same time as
Happy Days season sets. We just wanted to head off e-mails by taking a moment to confirm that those shows did NOT have any new DVD announcements today. While this may be of concern to fans of those programs (especially
M&M, since the 4th season is the last one; and
L&S fans will be wondering about the 5th season), we think that you shouldn't worry just yet: the studio may simply be seeking to stagger the release pattern of these shows. Of course, that's just a guess, and we don't honestly know what's going on. If we find out anything, though, we'll certainly let you know!
