A month ago today, ABC/Disney
announced that
Grey's Anatomy - The Complete 5th Season is coming to DVD and Blu-ray Disc on
September 15th. That same day, we had an early look at package art for both of those 7-disc sets. But since then, the studio has distributed a slightly revised version of the front cover for the DVD version, to retailers such as Amazon. We've got a look at it for you below, thanks to our retail contacts...who tell us that, even with the revision, it's still marked as "artwork not final" (so we could be in for a further change).
We also asked our contacts for an updated version of the package art for the high-def Blu-ray Disc version, and were told something surprising: that Disney had actually removed the listing for that item from their password-protected retailer site! The rumors, we're informed, are that the Blu-ray release won't happen day-and-date with the DVD version after all. Instead, Disney is apparently going to delay it...perhaps even as far back as into the the new year! There's nothing solid on this yet, though, and you can still
pre-order the Blu-ray version from Amazon.com - which still shows the 9/15 release date - as of this writing. But if something does change with the studio plans for the BD release, then don't say we didn't warn you!
