A short time ago today we
posted news from Shout! Factory DVD producer Brian Ward, that one of his new TV-DVD projects is the ABC Family series
Huge. It's probably time for us to mention that this isn't the only ABC Family series he's currently working on a DVD release for. Over on Twitter, Ward has been
dropping hints - and
for a while now, too! - that he's putting together the next DVD release of
Greek. There are other "tweets" he's posted recently, also mentioning the show and his work on DVDs for it.
There are 4 DVD box sets of
Greek available on the market so far:
Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4, all put out by ABC/Disney. Each "chapter" represents roughly half of a season, either 10 or 12 episodes. So the first pair of releases comprise Season 1, and the second part (3 and 4) comprise Season 2 of the program. There are two chapters that have already aired that make up the 3rd Season of the show, and the 4th (and Final) Season will begin airing this coming January, and only consist of one chapter (ten episodes).
So it looks like ABC/Disney has struck a deal for Shout! to take over the home video releases. Brian Ward's Twitter posts hasn't outright said, but we expect that it's most likely to be
Greek - Chapter 5 (the first half of the third season) that he's currently working on. And hopefully it sells well enough that Shout! green-lights the remaining two chapters of the series for DVD. This is all preliminary, and no formal announcement has come our way, so please take it for the hint-based speculation that it currently is. Stay tuned, though, and we'll bring you updates just as soon as they're available!
