previously shown off the cover art for
The Greatest American Hero - Season 1, but now we have extras to tell you about on the first season release as well. However, you'll see that cover art here again, below, because we're also going to compare it to the cover art for
The Greatest Americna Hero - Season 2. The releases are coming one after the other, with the first season arriving in a couple of weeks on
February 8th, and then the second season just two months behind it on

here. The Stephen J. Cannell company is creating these sets, and have hired Anchor Bay Entertainment to distribute them in stores.
The Greatest American Hero - Season 1 has a list price of just $29.95 for a 3-DVD set. William Katt stars as mild-mannered high school teacher Ralph Hinkley whose close encounter with aliens leaves him with a super-power suit that only he can control. But when Ralph loses the instruction manual, the safety of mankind is left in his fumbling hands. Now with the help of his attorney girlfriend Pam Davidson (Connie Sellecca) and FBI agent Bill Maxwell (Robert Culp), the world's most unlikely flying crime fighter is ready for action. Michael Pare and Faye Grant co-star in the Emmy nominated '80s hit created by Stephen J. Cannell.
There are 9 episodes on this release: the double-length, Emmy-nominated pilot episode of
Hero, the 8 weekly episodes which followed, and the unaired pilot for the proposed spin-off series
The Greatest American Heroine. Be careful about viewing it, though, because the events of the
Heroine pilot take place after the end of the third and last season of
Hero, and show how Ralph and Pam and Bill get themselves into a situation where Ralph is ordered to turn over the suit to somebody else.

The Greatest American Hero - Season 2 DVD compilation is a 6-DVD set going for $44.95 SRP. Above you see the cover art, and you see how similar it is to the first season set's look.
