Grace Under Fire, starring Brett Butler and created by Chuck Lorre (
Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Cybill, Dharma & Greg), is coming to DVD later this year. The popular 1993 series was produced by Carsey-Werner, the production company behind such hit sitcoms as
Roseanne, That '70s Show, The Cosby Show, A Different World, 3rd Rock from the Sun and
Grounded for Life.
Besides Butler, the show starred or featured regular appearances by Dave Thomas (
SCTV, Strange Brew), Julie White (Michael Bay's
Transformers films), twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse ("Ben" on
Friends, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody), Tom Poston (
Newhart, Mork & Mindy), and Lauren Tom (
Friends, The Facts of Life).
On
October 7th you'll be able to get
Grace Under Fire - Season 1 on a 3-Disc set from First Look Home Entertainment, with 22 episodes from the first year of the show's five-year run. Cost is $24.98 SRP, and you can already
pre-order it from DVDEmpire for just $17.49, after their discount (sounds like a steal!).
Guest stars to keep an eye out for include John Goodman (
Roseanne), Ben Browder (
Stargate SG-1), Vicki Lewis (
NewsRadio), Sean Whalen (
Twister, Lost: Missing Pieces), Louie Anderson (
Life With Louie), and Diane Ladd (
Chinatown, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore). Ladd was nominated for an Emmy Award, for her guest role as "Louise Burdette" late in the first season in the episode "Things Left Undone".
