E1 Entertainment (
formerly Koch Vision) has announced that they have picked up the rights to the classic mid-'60s animated series
Gigantor. The show's 52 episodes had previously been available on DVD in a pair of releases by Rhino Home Video in 2002 and 2003, but those have gone out of print.
Now E1 is planning a
May 5th release of the first 26 episodes, restored and assembled on a 4-disc set, titled as "
Gigantor - The Collection, Volume 1". The cost is $39.98 SRP for 650 minutes, but you can pre-order it at a discount (currently $27.99, but subject to change at the seller's discretion) via the Amazon button link below. E1 hasn't provided details about the specs or extras (if any), but they have sent us a look at the cover art. Check it out:
