Koch International has gotten some press recently in the home video trade publications - like
Video Business (free registration required) - about their ambitious plans to ramp up their DVD output, and to grow into "a leading independent video supplier and distributor."
Their plans are certainly spilling into the TV-on-DVD sector, with classic television entries like last fall's
Krazy Kat Kartoon Kollection and the already-announced release of
The Milton Berle Collection (episodes from
The Milton Berle Buick Hour).
Now Koch unveils plans to have Uncle Miltie joined on his Feb. 24th release date with another ultra-classic: Burns & Allen. Koch is distributing for Passport Video this 5-DVD collection of episodes from
The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. CBS's hit comedy started in 1950 and ran for 8 years, starting out live and then going to filmed shows in its second season. Now you can own this TV treasure:
Details are thin right now, but as noted the release date is February 24th, and the list price is a mere $29.98.
The George Burns & Gracie Allen Collection is the most extensive release so far on DVD of this classic show, and is available for immediate
