Based on the national best-selling book by Evan Wright, Generation Kill is an authentic and vividly detailed 7 part HBO mini-series event that presents a uniquely epic and intimate portrait of the first 40 days of the Iraq war from the perspective of the Marines of the First Recon Battalion - a new breed of American soldiers.

Last week we had the scoop that HBO was preparing to announce a December 16th DVD release of their just-finished Generation Kill mini-series. That official announcement came through this morning, confirming the info we had already passed along to you. It also provided the above new studio description, along with a revised running time of 362 minutes, per HBO/Warner. The 3-disc set will present the episodes in widescreen video, with English Dolby audio, and the cost will be $59.99 SRP.
