Just a week and a half ago we
filled you in on Shout! Factory's recently declassified plans to release
G.I. Joe: The Movie, but we didn't have the release date or pricing yet for the title. Now they've put the title up for pre-order at Amazon.com in both the
DVD ($16.97 SRP) and high-def
Blu-ray Disc ($22.97 SRP) versions. You can lock in your copy at a nice discount, so march over to Amazon, double-time. The street date is
July 27th, which unfortunately misses both Memorial Day and the 4th of July, but still leaves plenty of time during summer break for kids to enjoy the classic animated film, in either format. Each version is a single-disc release running 93 minutes long, with bonus materials which are still being finalized...so stay tuned for that information, along with package art, just as soon as it's available!
