Fringe - The Complete 2nd Season Now Officially Announced on DVD and Blu-ray

Bonus material, 3D box art and other details for these mid-September releases

Posted by David Lambert
"Most exciting drama around right now. Unfailingly amazing cast and dialogue." - Rob Sheffield, ROLLING STONE Return to explore the boundaries of a mysterious mythology that holds millions of viewers in its hypnotic grasp. Season 2 of Fringe contains worlds (and alternative worlds) of excitement complete with shape shifters, cryonic heads, belly-dwelling beasts and people who turn to ashes before our eyes. But the overarching narrative takes three clandestine FBI agents - Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop and Walter Bishop - through a mind-bending investigation of a parallel reality that threatens to destroy ours. The impossible is here in a series that offers "the most satisfying, coherent story arc of any science-fiction-flavored primetime drama" (Mike Hale, The New York Times).
Last week we posted a story that Warner Home Video's releases for Fringe - The Complete 2nd Season on DVD ($59.98 SRP) and Blu-ray Disc ($69.98 SRP) would be available starting September 14th. Today Warner confirmed that info with their official announcement of the title. It will be 6 discs on the DVD version, and 4 discs on the Blu-ray set, with Bonus Material that consists of "The Mythology of Fringe," "Fringe: Analyzing the Scene" (Sidebars on 6 Key Episodes), "In the Lab" with John Noble and Prop Master Rob Smith, Commentary on 4 Episodes by Series Stars and the Creative Team, "Unusual Side Effects" (Gag Reel), "Dissected Files" (Unaired Scenes) and The Unearthed Episode starring Kirk Acevedo as Charlie. Video is widescreen, with high-def 1080p resolution on the BD version. Audio on both versions is English Dolby Surround 5.1 with an option for Portuguese Stereo, and subtitles in Spanish, Portuguese, Thai and Chinese on the DVD and subtitles in Spanish, French and Portuguese on the Blu-ray. Running time is 1012 minutes. Here's the finalized package art for both versions, now in a nice 3D view:
